NextSilicon is looking for a talented and experienced Tech Lead to participate in the physical design of the company’s product for leading one of NextSilicon BE projects. This position involves working with external back-end developers as well as carrying out critical tasks in-house, and leading aggressive back-end initiatives to meet challenging targets in terms of area, timing, and layout. In this role, you will be at the center of the company’s design efforts and will have a significant influence on product architecture.
Requirements
- 12+ years of physical design experience, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership or senior role
- Proficiency in EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor) for physical design tasks such as floor planning, placement, CTS, routing, and timing.
- Expertise in timing closure, power analysis, and optimization methodologies.
- Strong understanding of digital design concepts, DRC/LVS, and sign-off procedures.
- Excellent team leadership, mentorship, and project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interface with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance.
Responsibilities
- As a Physical Design Technical Lead, you will lead a team responsible for the physical implementation of advanced digital integrated circuits. This role involves the complete physical design process, including floor planning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, timing, and power optimization at block and Sub-system level
- Lead and mentor a team of physical design engineers through all stages of the physical design flow.
- Drive the technical aspects of the physical design process, ensuring high-quality and efficient designs.
- Develop and implement best practices for physical design and continuous improvement of workflows.
- Work closely with project managers and other technical leads to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Execute and oversee full-chip physical design tasks including synthesis, floor planning, place and route (PnR), clock tree synthesis (CTS), and timing closure.
- Optimize designs for performance, power, and area (PPA) to meet design goals.
- Ensure compliance with DRC (Design Rule Checking) and LVS (Layout Versus Schematic) standards.
- Drive timing analysis and closure, working closely with the RTL design team to resolve timing violations.
- Perform power analysis and optimizations to meet target specifications.
