NextSilicon Opens New R&D Center in Belgrade

Belgrade, Serbia – [9.3.25] - NextSilicon, a leader in next-generation computing solutions for AI and high-performance computing (HPC), has officially opened a new R&D site in Belgrade, Serbia. The new facility marks a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion strategy and reinforces its commitment to scaling innovation through world-class engineering talent.

The new Belgrade site currently houses over 70 engineers and developers, with plans to significantly expand throughout 2025. Located in the modern B23 Office Park, the new site offers a spacious 1,200 sqm hub on the top 8th floor. The offices are designed to inspire innovation and collaboration, and pay tribute to the legacy of Serbia & the world's greatest computer scientists and engineers. NextSilicon employees can enjoy the new amenities at the new site, including a chill zone, a lounge, a workout area, and two spacious balconies.

The team is already contributing to core areas of NextSilicon’s software-defined infrastructure, supporting the company’s mission to enable breakthrough performance across diverse and complex workloads.

The site’s grand opening was attended by Elad Raz, Founder and CEO of NextSilicon, along with other members of the company’s global management team. The event also welcomed Ambassador Avivit Bar-Ilan, Israel’s ambassador to Serbia, who emphasized the growing technological ties between the two countries.

“Serbia has surpassed every expectation. The level of talent, technical depth, and drive we’ve found here is truly exceptional. What impressed me most is the culture — a rare mix of discipline, creativity, and relentless execution. Our Serbian team is already making a deep impact on our core technology, and we’re just getting started. We’re proud to be part of this vibrant ecosystem and excited to keep growing together.” — Elad Raz, Founder and CEO of NextSilicon

This milestone comes on the heels of the successful launch of NextSilicon’s flagship product, the Maverick-2 chip, which is already in production and being deployed by customers around the globe. Built for both AI and HPC workloads, Maverick-2 exemplifies the company’s approach to delivering software-defined performance without the pain of traditional hardware constraints.

The new location in Belgrade adds to NextSilicon’s growing international presence, which includes sites in Israel, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, and India. In Europe, the company is also a proud partner and collaborator at the ODISSEE project, a major European HPC initiative, bringing top research infrastructures such as CERN's HL-LHC and SKAO together in order to reimagine today’s computing paradigms for tomorrow’s scientific breakthroughs.

NextSilicon plans to continue expanding in Serbia throughout 2025 and beyond, offering top engineering talent the opportunity to work on cutting-edge challenges in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.
